- In a somewhat expected move, the Metro Council approved a $250 financing plan for a new MLS stadium to be built at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds 31-6 in hopes of landing an expansion team at next month’s league meetings. There will be at least one more vote to approve demolition of existing structures at the site, a requirement introduced in a 2011 referendum.
- The Nashville Predators (8-5-2) picked up a 3-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets (9-6-1) Tuesday night, their third straight victory. They have a few days off before facing the Pittsburgh Penguins (9-6-2) at 7 p.m. Saturday night at Bridgestone Arena.

- A charter school teacher has been suspended without pay after allegedly posting a video to Snapchat of a young Muslim girl’s hijab being removed by other students. The family wants answers.
- If the Nashville Electric Service contacts you asking for your bank information, it is actually not a scam for a change. The group recently updated its billing system.
- Metro Nashville Public Schools are experimenting with a new aptitude test to advise on potential career options for students. The tests are similar in purpose to the ones administered annually by the military, but advising on civilian careers.
- The Nashville Business Journal takes a look at one of the less-discussed components of the $5.2 billion transit plan: the neighborhood multi-modal stations.
