About Nashvillest

Nashvillest is an independently-owned and operated blog about Nashville, Tennessee. Founded in 2008, we blogged a lot, won some awards, had some fun, disappeared around 2012, and now we’re back. You can read more about that here.

  • I like the idea of the Nashville Retrospect thing, but wouldn’t it make more sense as a website? Is it just all ads on the inside?

    • Yeah, you would think so. I think the inside has actual articles, but it may only be a four-page deal.

  • Thanks for posting my meerkat picture – I did a doubletake in my feed reader when I saw it. 🙂

    • Thanks for dropping it in the pool! We love us some meerkats 🙂

  • A newspaper that covers old news? We already have one of those. It’s called The Tennessean.

    • Haha, awful. Morgan and I saw the Nashville Retrospect thing on a news stand at a coffee shop and were a little confused as to why you’d start a novelty print publication like that when actual print news publications aren’t even doing well. But hey, I’ll be curious to see where it goes.

If you were lucky enough to see the story news channel 5 did on the food stamp expansion maybe you notice a few things I noticed

    1) A woman pulled her food stamps card out of a Luis Vuitton wallet.

    2) A woman (could have been the same one who knows) loaded up her food stamp groceries into the back of a very nice new SUV. (maybe a Tahoe or Escalade or something)

am I reading too much into this? Am I paranoid?
