- A local recording studio owner has collected 12,000 signatures from people wanting Metro to change city ordinances that forbid home-based businesses and has gained the support of at least one Metro Council member. Recent lawsuits challenging the ordinance as it is written have failed.
- The Nashville Predators fired head coach Peter Laviolette and assistant Kevin McCarthy Monday evening near the halfway mark of the season. They named John Hynes their third head coach in franchise history before the game against the Boston Bruins.
- The Predators (19-16-7) were unable to welcome their new coach with a win, losing 6-2 to the visiting Boston Bruins (25-8-11). The team begins a three-game road trip with the Chicago Blackhawks () tonight and the Winnipeg Jets (24-16-4) Sunday.
