• Metro Council voted to advance a proposal limiting the cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration agents. Some lawmaker from not-in-Nashville is promising a legislative “nuh-uh”.
• Another Metro Council bill proposes banning “platform” vehicles, effectively shutting down those party “boats” and tractors that roll through downtown.
• The “Live on the Green” concert series lineup for later this summer has been released, with Sheryl Crow and Spoon among the headliners.
• If you’ve spent anytime in Metro Parks, you probably have Jim Fyke to thank for it. He died Tuesday at the age of 78.
• No matter what plans you’ve made for the August 21 total eclipse, your view probably won’t be as good as this weather baloon’s, launching by Vanderbilt University and NASA.
• Some guys in East Nashville weren’t exactly getting cookies from grandma. The pair were arrested after receiving 13 pounds of marijuana through the mail.
