Bright & Early: Best Week Ever Edition

Good morning, Nashville. What a weekend, huh? Some of us took an Urban Dare on Saturday while some were out in Franklin raving about the best BBQ in the world, and it seems like we didn’t get any sleep with all that thunder and ruckus on Saturday night. A couple of us are still recovering from sweating it out at the park yesterday for Nashville Pride and the search for the elusive “Special Edition” Bush-McCain Challenge which we think stood us up again. And of course, the motherland turned 212. We don’t anticipate things slowing down either, with the CMA Music Festival turning the place upside down for the rest of the week. Luckily Nashvillest is here to get you through the week, and we’ll be doing our best to stay on top of it all so you don’t miss a thing.

  • One small step. It seems like everyone’s going green these days. And well, everyone is trying to figure out how to get out of paying so much for gas. Always on the cutting edge (ha, ha, ha), Nashville MTA will be adding six hybrid buses to the fleet by the end of the year.
  • Worthy effort. We were all excited about Lipscomb and Vandy both having teams in the NCAA tournament this year, but they were both eliminated this weekend. Vandy fell to the Oklahoma Sooners in an 11-10 heartbreaker, and Georgia took down Lipscomb 14-3.
  • Bits & pieces. Coyote makes an impromptu appearance near Vandy … Guy robs a Trinity Lane Family Dollar with a stolen bulldozer … Gallatin man taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center after standoff in girlfriend’s trailer … Sounds replace their GM.
