Every now and then, we stumble across local artists doing things we really love, and occasionally they even want to share their talents with Nashvillest and our readers! Hannah Schmitt, a local graphic designer, came up with the idea of creating a Nashville “boroughs” poster as she looked for something similar to hang in her own home. Says Hannah:
I designed these based on the old school style destination blinds that they would hang in train station windows showing the various destinations the trains would be going to. I wanted one but when shopping around, realized I couldn’t spend the NINE hundred dollars they’re going for and decided to make my own– and then share them with Nashville!
The result was an affordable, customizable, uniquely-Nashville art piece, and we’re kind of drooling over it. And we have one to give away to a lucky Nashvillest reader! You can enter to win one of two ways, or do both and be entered to win twice!
1. Leave a comment on this post, and tell us your favorite thing about Nashville. Your comment must include a valid email address to qualify (don’t worry, we’re the only ones who can see it, and we won’t use your email address for anything except to notify you if you win!).
2. Tweet about this contest. The easiest way is to retweet this tweet! To qualify, your tweet must include the hashtag #nashvillest and the original bit.ly link (http://bit.ly/nash_poster), and follow us @nashvillest (so we can DM you if you win). Also, if your account is protected, be sure to authorize us to follow you back! You can’t win if we can’t see your tweet.
The contest ends at 12pm CDT on Friday, July 16, so get your entries in before then! More than two entries will result in disqualification. You must have a mailing address in the lower 48 US states to win.
Of course, winning isn’t the only way to get your hands on one of these babies. The posters are 12×35″, printed on a thick, matte paper, and can be purchased framed ($60) or unframed ($35) at Hannah’s Etsy store. Don’t see your favorite part of Nashville on the poster? She’ll gladly customize one for you.
UPDATE: The winner has been chosen! Congratulations to Taylor M (@veritas3241), and thanks to everyone else for your amazing entries. We had a great time watching the Nashville love fest grow in our comments section.

Wanna know my favorite thing about Nashville? It's home. And since I don't get to live there anymore, that is a pretty big deal.
Favorite thing about Nashville: Percy Warner Park and all the greenways!
Just moved here from Charleston, SC and this poster would be a great checklist of places I need to experience ( still don't know what or where a “gulch” is). My favorite thing, so far, are the lightning bugs. We don't have them in Charleston and they make sittin' on my front porch a delight!
Welcome to Nashville! The Gulch is just south of Broadway on 11th/12th Ave. It's a little urban area with shopping (Urban Outfitters, Nashville Clothing Company), housing (lots of new condos and lofts), food (Sambuca, Ru Sans, Urban Flats, Cantina Laredo), coffee (Casablanca), drinks (Yazoo Brewery is just around the corner on Division Street) and more. Again, welcome!
My favorite thing about Nashville is all of the amazing talent and live music. I moved to Florida for a few years and really missed it. The people are awesome as well and so is your artwork.
My favorite thing about Nashville is that it is my home.
Great poster! I love the variety of things to do in Nashville. You can have an adventure filled day on the zip lines or kayaking, and then have a gourmet dinner before hitting a speak easy! Who could ever get bored!

Thanks so much Morgan! I'm 9 months pregnant right now and experiencing anything other than a doctor's office or a grocery store has been a challenge, but I hope to in the near future.
I moved here last year from New York City, and I love this poster, and Nashville. I think my favorite thing here is having a yard. And trees! And just the color of summertime GREEN.
There is so much to love about Nashville. I love the feel Nashville has of a small town in a large city. I love the different neighborhoods-from Belmont/12 South to East Nashville to Downtown to Franklin. I love the southern hospitality and warm faces of the people. I love the music scene and all the amazing talented friends/people I am surrounded by. But most of all, with the devastation that the flood brought, I love how this city all came together and served each other selflessly. Without the attention needed, we were still able to wow the nation and those who came to volunteer. It was because of this city and its people that we didn't turn into a Katrina. I <3 Nashville
My favorite thing about Nashville is being surrounded by good people who step up to help one another any time – not just times in need.
East Nashville
What happened to Bellevue?
Great poster too bad places like woodbine aren't there, guess they're not hip enough yet…..
As we mentioned above, one of the great things about the poster is that Hannah will customize! If you don't see your neighborhood, she'll add it.
