- Mayor David Briley has announced the departure of the city’s Chief Operating Officer (a position created by his predecessor) Rich Riebeling as well as appointing his former campaign manager to be his Chief of Staff. Riebeling has been instrumental in massive projects from the two previous administrations, including First Tennessee Park, Music City Central and the proposed MLS stadium at The Fairgrounds.
- The Nashville Convention Center Authority will divert $10 million of its revenue from the MCC to help pay police and firefighter overtime and other expenses in a first of its kind agreement with metro government. The costs of hosting Nashville’s massive events, such as CMA Fest, next week’s 4th of July festivities and others, had been putting a strain on the public safety departments.
- A mid-state couple bought a car from a lot in Madison, only to never be sent the title and find the business gone without a trace. Police suspect the vehicle they were “sold” may have been stolen.

- Caviar & Bananas in midtown will close after less than two years in operation, with the owners saying they intend to focus on their South Carolina locations. The restaurant joins several others that have struggled to find a foothold in Nashville’s competitive dining scene.
