- As expected, the union representing Nashville’s police officers has filed a lawsuit to block the Community Oversight Board referendum from appearing on the November ballot, alleging that the collected signatures fell well short of the necessary total. The election commission voted unanimously to include it on the ballot.
- Despite what you may hear on the evening news, East Nashville has actually seen a significant drop in overall violent crime over the last five years. However, the number of gunshot victims have risen six of eight precincts in the last year.
- The actor that played “Snowbird” for more than 20 years on WSMV has filed a lawsuit against the station for age discrimination, joining three other former employees that have alleged similar claims. He is seeking $250,000 in damages and a jury trial.

- Owners of a Germantown development near Rolling Mill Hill have unveiled plans for its next two phases, including converting warehouse space into office space. Construction is slated for March 2019.
- The owners of the Fifth + Broadway development have applied for $25 million in tax-exempt bonds from the Metro Development & Housing Agency, an unusual move for a project already underway. The entire project is expected to cost about $450 million.
- LifeWay’s headquarters has opened “FaithWorks,” a coworking space for “for Christian entrepreneurs, freelancers, startups and small businesses.” The company downsized its overall office space in 2017.
- The Broadwest development at the site of “Lake Palmer” has unveiled renderings of the tower buildings and say they could begin construction as soon as this fall. Yes, we’ve heard this kind of thing before.
- A new building on Music Row would be constructed entirely of wood, which while it looks great sounds like it might be risky idea.
