- Ryman Hospitality has lost its court case against the Metro Historic Zoning Commission that would have allowed them to continue to bathe the “Ole Red” bar on Lower Broadway in red. The company is likely to appeal.
- The run-off between Ginny Welsch and Tony Tenpenny in District 16 has taken a weird turn, with a mailer from “concerned voters” equating Welsch to Mayor Briley and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and saying that it would be a vote for “progressive socialism.” The mailer urges recipients to vote for John Cooper and Tenpenny.

- A WSMV report says that ankle bracelets worn by some people awaiting trial are no longer being monitored because of a dispute over payments between the monitoring company and the trial courts.
- The Tennessee Titans (1-0) routed the Cleveland Browns (0-1) 43-13 to open the regular season. The Titans host the Luck-less Indianapolis Colts (0-1) on Sunday.
