- Metro Council member Bob Mendes is again trying to amend the mayor’s budget to include a 16 percent property tax increase to make up for a $162 million shortfall for the school system and public employee raises. Last year’s attempt failed when then-Vice Mayor Sheri Weiner cast the tie-breaking vote against it.
- A documentary highlighting the homeless encampment that was at Fort Negley in 2016 will begin airing on PBS Thursday night at 11 p.m. The filmmakers spent six months with residents at the camp.
- Mayor David Briley has written a letter to all of the city’s dockless scooter operators giving them 30 days to submit plans to address safety and sidewalk blocking issues or he would submit legislation to ban them. The move follows the death of a rider earlier this month downtown.

- An Antioch charter school CEO allegedly ran a side business out of the school building while the organization was not meeting its payroll obligations, a report shows.
- May Dean Eberling, the first executive director of the Metro Historical Commission and a community advocate that lead the charge to save the Ryman Auditorium from demolition in the 1970s has died. Eberling was 78.
- Mayoral candidate Carol Swain visited a mosque over the weekend in part to apologize for her 2015 comments against Muslims following a terrorist attack in France.
- WPLN has an interview with another mayoral candidate, Metro Council At-Large member John Cooper, who says he is running to fix the city’s finances.
- Former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Dr. Kevin Dyson has been named the principal of Grassland Middle School in Williamson County. He was previously the interim principal.
- The Vanderbilt University baseball team is heading the NCAA playoffs after claiming the second seed in the tournament following their SEC title win over Ole Miss. The Commodores won the College World Series in 2014.
- Nashville Sounds pitcher Tim Dillard is still mysteriously suspended from Twitter, and nobody apparently knows why. #FreeDilly
