- Metro workers used bulldozers to clear out remnants of a large homeless encampment in East Nashville, prompting an outcry from advocates saying the city is not doing enough to help those affected. Officials say the camp was becoming dangerous with colder weather and increased rainfall.
- A local non-profit is adopting out storm drains to volunteers so they can be cleared of debris to reduce road flooding.

- A committee at the state legislature took the first steps towards curbing the authority of Nashville’s newly empaneled Community Oversight Board, a move local officials are decrying as overreach and hypocrisy, given the Knoxville has had a similar board for years.
- Because everyone knows Nashville needed another dockless scooter option, Uber introduced their JUMP scooters to our city’s streets, sidewalks and eventually its impound lots. For those keeping count, they join Lyft, Bird and Lime. ?
- Metro Council members are still trying to come up with rules to regulate the scooters, or allow their approval to operate in the city to expire entirely.
- A former Vanderbilt University Medical Center nurse has plead not guilty to reckless homicide and patient abuse in what has become a rallying point for the nursing community. RaDonda Vaught is alleged to have administered the wrong medicine to a patient who later died.
The Nashville MTAWeGo Public Transit released a report that shows that ridership has rebounded a bit after reaching a recent low in 2017, bucking a national trend of falling riderships in major cities. The group is moving ahead despite last year’s failure of the transit referendum.- The Nashville Predators (35-22-5) picked up a critical win over the division rival Dallas Stars (29-25-5) Tuesday night 5-3 in Dallas. The team hosts the Los Angeles Kings (23-30-6) tonight and the Colorado Avalanche (24-24-11) Saturday night.
- The Nashville MLS team will be called Nashville SC, just like its current USL iteration, the team announced Wednesday night at a media event. Apparently some of y’all aren’t fans of the new logo. ⚽
- The Tennessee State Fair Association has withdrawn its lawsuit to block the planned MLS stadium at Fairgrounds Nashville, saying they are now negotiating with the developers directly.

- A Whites Creek High School graduate has been named the Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, making history as the first African-American woman to serve in that role.
