- The new coffee shop in North Nashville will not be called “The Sit In” after all following community reaction that the name trivialized the civil rights history of the area. The owner called the backlash “hurtful.”
- Nashville has removed itself out of the running to host the 2020 Republican National Convention, citing scheduling conflicts and security concerns. The RNC was previously being pitched on holding the event at Gaylord Opryland Resort.

- A man told police that “it got out of hand” when explaining why he had 54 animals, including 43 rats, living in squalid conditions in a South Nashville storage unit. He faces animal cruelty charges, but the domesticated rats are available for adoption through Metro Animal Care & Control. ?
