- Antioch Waffle House murder suspect Travis Reinking was arrested without incident Monday afternoon after a tip from a construction worker who saw him the woods near his apartment. His bail was set at $2 million but was subsequently revoked pending further charges in the April 22 shooting.

- Nashville’s mayor David Briley is urging action on gun control, saying that the AR-15 rifle should not be in the hands of civilians.

- Nashville’s mayor and skyscraper builder Tony Giarrantana have proposed a land swap deal with the city that would give him the park across the street from the downtown library in exchange for building a “service center” for the homeless people that often congregate at the park. The new property would be taller than Giarrantana’s 505 Church street building, already the tallest in the city.

- The Broadway musical “Hamilton” will be part of Tennessee Performing Arts Center 2019 season the venue announced Tuesday. Tickets are going to be difficult to come by unless you’re a TPAC season ticket holder.
- The Pie Wagon, by some counts Nashville’s second oldest restaurant, will close after 96 years because they cannot afford to make Metro’s mandated improvements to the plumbing system. They will close for good tomorrow.
- A city judge is speaking out against the “school to prison pipeline,” noting that many of the offenders she sees in her courtroom are getting increasingly younger. She says that greater community involvement is necessary to reverse the trend.
