Good morning, Nashville. It is with heavy hearts that we look out the window at the vast snowlessness this morning. Deep down inside, we knew this was going to happen. We knew that the weatherfolk would let us down, and they did. While the middle part of the country is busy pelting each other with snowballs and making snowmen and snow angels and snow forts and snow cream, the only thing we can do is sit back and make a few metric tons of french toast with all the bread, milk and eggs we bought yesterday (we even found you some instructions). Maybe next time, Nashville.
- It is too cold. The bigger story here will probably be this blast of arctic air that people keep hinting about, which is supposed to follow that big blizzard we have outside. Tomorrow’s high is 25 and we would like to politely veto that sort of weather.
- Karaoke superstars. In non-weather news, Fiona Apple is suing Lonnie’s Western Room karaoke bar because they allegedly haven’t been paying licensing fees for the use of her music since 2007. By “Fiona Apple,” we mean “Fiona Apple’s publishing company along with eight others,” of course.
- Bits & pieces. The FDA and US Marshals raided a Berry Hill-based food distribution plant yesterday because of a bad rat infestation … We don’t know about you, but drive-by no-wait emissions testing sounds like one heck of an idea … Another day, another water main break.
