Good morning, Nashville. We’re starting to think that we might actually get all those fancy riverfront renovations we’ve been hearing about for years. As Mayor Dean promised in his State of the Metro address over the summer, a firm has been hired to design $30 million worth of projects on both sides of the river. The projects are expected to be started by the end of the month, including that cryptic “adventure play park.”
- On the mend. The state has released its first quarter revenue collections and it turns out we were $88 million short of initial projections. But to put it into perspective, at this time last year we were $200 million short.
- We love our veterans. A big Nashvillest ‘thank you’ goes out to all our veterans today. Celebrate and remember by checking out some of the parades going on in the midstate.
- Bits & pieces. News Channel 5 is still harping on country music ticket conspiracies, this time zeroing in on Taylor Swift … Steve McNair’s restaurant, Gridiron9, is finally being sold after collecting dust for a few months … Big Kenny, Dierks Bentley, Kid Rock and others are coming together to fight mountaintop removal … Another rockslide closed a major road in Polk County … The body found burning in a dumpster near MTSU was ruled a suicide.
