- Tennessee State University is set to name former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George as its next head coach. It is his first head coaching role.
- The Belcourt Theater will expand its reopening in a limited capacity on April 23 with two indoor showings. The venue has only sporadically opened since the pandemic began last March.

- Legislation proposed in the Tennessee Legislature would cut the eligibility timeframe for unemployment benefits in more than half, down from 26 weeks to 12.
