- Mayor John Cooper announced Thursday a tentative plan that the Music City Center will pay $12.6 million to the city in lieu of property taxes each year as part of his effort to divert money earned downtown towards fixing the city’s budget woes. There is still a sizable hole to fill in the current budget year.
- ICE agents sought to obtain student records from Una Elementary School in southeast Nashville, a request that was denied and prompted the system to remind schools to seek assistance if law enforcement requests came to their attention. Immigration activists called the request “outrageous and deeply troubling.”

- A group of Kurdish immigrants protested in front of the downtown Federal Court House Friday to show their displeasure in the government’s sudden military withdrawal from the border area between Turkey and Syria, leaving their homeland vulnerable to an assault from Turkey.

- A 56 year-old man was killed by a WeGo bus Thursday morning when witnesses say he stumbled on the sidewalk as the bus passed. The incident happened on 8th Ave South.
- Belle-Ewe made her first public appearance after being lost for weeks in Warner Parks, showing up at a local history festival as the special guest.
- The L&L Market on Charlotte Avenue had its grand opening this past weekend, welcoming visitors to its dozens of stores already open.
- Nashville SC has secured its first ever home playoff game with a 2-0 win over North Carolina FC. The team goes into the final weekend looking to lock up top seeding in their conference. ⚽️

- The Nashville Predators (3-2-0) won a thrilling 6-5 game Thursday night against the Washington Capitals (3-1-2) at home but had a comeback come up short against the Los Angeles Kings (2-2-0) Saturday night, losing 7-4 for the season’s first road game. The Predators continue their road trip against the Vegas Golden Knights (3-2-0) Tuesday night.

- A woman in southeast Nashville was injured while trying to stop a loose dog from attacking her own while walking in the neighborhood. MACC says there have been 585 animal bites reported this year.
