- John Cooper was sworn in as the ninth mayor of Metro Nashville at a ceremony Saturday at Stratford High School. There was a bit of a hiccup in this oath of office, so they did it again to make sure they got it right.

- Police are searching for a 67 year-old man who went missing while hiking in Beaman Park Saturday night.
- The Fifth+Broadway hung large banners with the jerseys of Steve McNair and Eddie George over the weekend starting on 9/27 — the two numbers of the retired Titans. The team retired the two numbers at the season opener. ?
- Service cuts are now in effect for WeGo buses, so be sure to check the new schedule before you head out this morning. Note that Google Maps does not have the new schedule as of Sunday evening, so rely on other apps.
- A Metro Nashville police officer was among the injured when a car overturned on Broadway near 14th Avenue late Friday night. Police are still trying to piece together the cause of the crash.
- The cleanliness (and smell) of downtown is among the issues that city officials are trying to address, with more and more events happening on Lower Broadway and nearby venues. Public Works already “flushes” the city’s manholes and storm drains before big events.
- At least six more residents will be moving into the new “Envision Cayce” development in East Nashville, marking progress in the long-running development to replace the aging housing projects with a mixed-income development. ?
- The Tennessee Titans (2-2) picked up a 24-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons (1-3) on the road in Atlanta. The Titans host the Buffalo Bills (3-1) next Sunday in Nashville.
- The Nashville Predators closed out a 5-1 preseason schedule with a 2-1 overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes Friday night in Nashville. The team opens its regular season at home against the Minnesota Wild Thursday, October 3.
- The Preds also announced that Bridgestone Arena will be the name of their home through at least 2030, adding five years to a previously announced naming rights deal with the tire company.
- If you ever wanted to spent $12,000 to $14,000 a month on rent, well, that development near 1200 Broadway have a penthouse for you. We assume it comes with a vacation home as well. ?
- A dog nicknamed “cookie” wandering around Antioch with a plastic jug stuck around her head for between 3 and 6 days has been freed by a rescue group. She is now being held at MACC for rehabilitation following the ordeal. ?
