• District Attorney Glen Funk’s decision to ask a Davidson County Court to commute the death sentence of Abu-Ali Abdur’Rahman to life in prison without parole is being challenged by the State’s Attorney General. The DA says that the prosecutor’s behavior in his case did not allow for Abdur’Rahman to receive a fair trial.
• Tension continues to mount between the Community Oversight Board and the Metro Nashville Police Department, with Police Chief Steve Anderson declining to meet with the group at their emergency meetings to demand more transparency from the department.

• It is going to be another tough budget year according to the letter sent to the State Comptroller to answer that office’s questions about the state of Metro’s finances. The city will either have to cut expenses or raise revenue.
