• The top-tier candidates for Nashville mayor squared off in final televised debate  before early voting, covering topics such as transit, property taxes, police body cameras and teacher pay. Election Day is August 1.
• The funeral for Metro Nashville Police Department officer John Anderson was held Monday, with hundreds in attendance including the Governor. Anderson was killed in an auto crash involving a teen driver fleeing a separate incident.
• The teen’s mother released a statement through her attorney on Monday as well expressing ‘condolences and apologies.’
• The Metro Development and Housing Agency approved plans Monday for what is expected to be an Apple Store at the downtown Fifth + Broadway development. It joins an H&M and other retailers in the space.
• WPLN’s “Curious Nashville” answers a question they received about the differences between refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers.
• DirecTV and AT&T UVerse subscribers are not getting some of their local channels, including WKRN and the CB network because of an ongoing contract dispute. It’s a lot of finger pointing by both Nexstar and AT&T.

• The Community Oversight Board has launched an investigation into the viral video from last week where a woman was thrown against her car after a traffic stop at a gas station. It is the board’s first formal investigation into alleged police misconduct.
