- An MNPD officer was injured attempting to stop an ATV driver and was dragged down lower Broadway. About 100 motorcycles and ATVs caused a bit of a panic this weekend, with police helicopters trying to track the group.

- Speaking of the police, they would like to remind folks they need to fill out an official police report if things are stolen, not just submit your doorbell camera footage.
- Kim Kardashian learned the hard way that it is difficult to find a place to rent in Nashville, particularly if the tenant has a criminal record. Matthew Charles was released last month as part of the First Step Act, but his rental applications have been denied even with the celebrity offering to prepay the rent.
- The Parthenon at Centennial Park was evacuated briefly Friday afternoon after someone reported a suspicious bag. Patrons were allowed back into the building a short time later.
- A Metro Council member has announced his opposition to the incentive package that will be voted on Tuesday for Amazon because of the company’s decision to appeal a landmark decision related to songwriter royalties. Council member Jeff Syracuse works as an executive for BMI, one of the largest performing rights groups.
- The incentive package is valued at $15 million if the company hits its employment targets, and does come with quite a few strings attached.
- Separately, Amazon has committed $800,000 to fund a computer science professorship at Tennessee State University in an effort to support the pipeline of tech workers to the new entrant to Nashville.
- The City Lab blog took a closer look at the purported “average salary of $150,000” claims for the new Amazon jobs and has more questions than answers.

- Rocker Marilyn Manson and Norman Reedus of “Walking Dead” fame recently recorded the season finale of “Ride with Norman” in town and featured Nashville Roller Derby and hot chicken.
- In basketball news, Belmont University’s men’s basketball team got an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, the first time two teams from the Ohio Valley Conference will have a shot at the Final Four since 1987. Belmont lost to the Murray State Racers in their conference tournament for an automatic bid.
- If you’re in to cars, the Lane Auto Museum has a “hoods up” exhibit running now through April 1 where you can get a glimpse of the engines of some classic cars. ?
- The Nashville Predators (41-27-5) picked up important wins over the Los Angeles Kings (25-38-8) 3-1 Thursday night and the San Jose Sharks (43-21-8) 4-2 Saturday night to close out their California road trip. The Predators host the Toronto Maple Leafs (43-24-5) tomorrow night at Bridgestone Arena.
- With nine games remaining in the regular season, the Predators have a “magic number” of 10, and SportsClubStats.com gives them a 99.95 percent chance of making the playoffs. Their first round opponent is most likely to be either St. Louis or Dallas according to the website.
