It’s Margarita O’Clock: Get Your Cinco De Mayo Fiesta On

It’s Cinco de Mayo, and you know what that means… It’s socially acceptable to drink margaritas at lunch! We’ve got a roundup of some local Cinco de Mayo fiestas, so pick your poison, don’t drink and drive, and have fun!

Cinco de Mayo Pub Crawl at Five Points (East Nashville’s 5 Points, 4-10pm). If margaritas aren’t your thing but you still want to party, East Nashville’s pub crawl is your place. 3 Crow Bar, Red Door Saloon, Beyond the Edge and Batter’d & Fried will be serving up drink specials and raffling off prizes, including a trip to Cancun (get a stamp at each bar as your entry form).

The Most Interesting Cinco de Mayo Party in Green Hills (2211 Bandywood Drive, 5-11pm). Arguably the ONLY Cinco de Mayo party in Green Hills, Greenhouse Bar will have a tent pitched out back to maximize the party space, and you can expect “Fun Decorations, Outdoor Stage w/The CHRIS WEAVER-achi Band, Taco Truck, Fresh Guacamole, Sangria, Upside Down Margaritas, Lots of Dos Equis & The World’s Most Interesting Man.” Those are some tall promises. $5 to get in (or free if you’re a Mexican midget or wrestler, or both).

Taco Mamacita (1200 Villa Place, 4pm-12am): $5 El Caminos / El Vez, $3 Coronas/Corona Lights, $3 shots of Sauza Silver and Gold. The Chattanooga Brewing Company has brewed a special beer – Hot Mama – just for Taco Mamacita ($3 pints)!

SOL (403 Main Street, Franklin, 5-9pm): SOL Restaurant will attempt to break the Guinness Book Record for the Largest Tequila Toast. Tickets to participate in the Tequila Toast are $5 and the proceeds go to charity, so drink up! Music and other festivities start at 5pm, toast is at 7pm.

Sopapilla’s (1109 Davenport Blvd, Franklin, 4-11pm): Drink and food specials, live music, prizes and – drumroll – $10 hot air balloon rides. Can anyone top that, really?

La Hacienda (2615 Nolensville Road, 10am-9pm): Happy hour all day! 2-for-1 10 or 16oz margaritas, and a giant 45oz margarita for $8.49. Whoa.

Mas Tacos (732 McFerrin Ave, 11am-9pm): For the non-boozy crowd, take advantage of Mas Tacos being open until 9pm to get your Cinco de Mayo on (they usually close at 4). They’ll be serving elote, homemade guacamole, tortilla soup, tacos (of course), watermelon agua fresca and having specials all day.

The Local Taco (4501 Murphy Road, Nashville / 146 Pewitt Drive, Brentwood, 11am-10pm): Sylvan Park will serve up $3 Coronas and $5 margaritas, while Brentwood will feature a $3 Starr Hill Lucy and the same ol’ delicious $5 margaritas. Bonus: They’ll have the Preds game on!

Rosepepper (1907 Eastland Ave, 11am-2pm, 4-9:30pm): Rosepepper’s famous house margaritas are $5 all day. Need we say more?

Las Maracas (2704 Gallatin Pike / 1107 Gallatin Pike, 11am-10pm): Lime house margaritas, $3 for 12oz, $5 for 18oz and $15 for a pitcher. $3 32oz domestic drafts, $3.25 32oz Dos Equis draft, domestic bottles are 2-for-1 at $3 and import bottles are 2-for-1 at $3.50.

Chago’s Cantina (2015 Belmont Blvd, 11am-12am): $3 Corona, Dos Equis drafts, tequila shots, Chago-Ritas, and Tecate.

Baja Burrito (722 Thompson Lane, 5-9pm): 2-for-1 cerveza!

Cantina Laredo (592 12th Ave S, 11am-10pm): Happy hour from 11am-6pm, which means $5 margaritas! Cash bars on both patios to make it easier for you to get to your favorite Mexican beers, and they’ll have special promotions from Cuervo, Sauza and Patron from 6-10pm.

Margaritaville (322 Broadway, 11am-2am): $5 Loaded Landsharks or House Margaritas with your choice of Margaritaville tequila flavors – Island Lime, Last Mango, Calypso Coconut or Paradise Passion Fruit. $5 chips, salsa and queso combo.
