Good morning, Nashville. We’re very sorry to do this to you two days in a row, but here is your abbreviated sprint through the morning news:
- Snow! The latest models show us in either 1-3″ or 2-4″, depending on who you ask. Let’s just say we wouldn’t write off the possibility of another snow day for the children, who basically no longer go to school. [WKRN]
- According to the American Lung Association, Tennessee sucks at helping smokers quit. [WKRN]
- South Nashville home burglaries are up 22% and police are trying to figure out what to do about it. [WSMV]
- Metro Schools are hoping to appeal a mandate by the federal government that would allow students in failing schools to transfer to better ones. Though this is standard procedure for schools that aren’t meeting No Child Left Behind standards, this year’s unusual testing schedule would mean that students would be transferring in the middle of the school year. [WPLN]
- Murfreesboro’s Water and Sewer Department is now cutting off water to folks who are more than $100 overdue and at least two months behind. [WTVF]
