Good morning, Nashville. You might have noticed that’s snowing outside! Most of Nashville received anywhere from 2-4″ last night, resulting in school closures, canceled flights, hazardous driving conditions and an official state of emergency. According to weather forecasts, we’ve probably got another inch or two on the way tonight into tomorrow. We can has snow day?
- Inauguration time. Governator-to-be Bill Haslam kicks off his inauguration festivities this week with a tour around the state leading up to his inauguration ceremony on Friday night.
- Less green, more roof. Developers had to slash part of the green roof plans for the Music City Center in order to stay within budget. With the new plan, greenery will cover about 28% of the roof’s surface.
- Bits & pieces. MTA buses will be running on snow routes today and probably also tomorrow … NES suspends energy disconnections for folks who can’t pay their bills when temperatures drop below freezing … Bud Adams really wanted to keep Vince Young and Coach Fisher, but “couldn’t find a way to make the relationship work” … Fort Campbell’s 101st Air Division has had its deadliest combat year since Vietnam … A fire destroyed Charlie Daniels’ barn over the weekend and killed 11 horses … Former Congressman Zach Wamp’s father has died after falling at his office in Chattanooga.
