Happy Hour: Bing Bang Boom

  • We all knew this was inevitable when half of NES went underwater last month, but a rate increase in our electric bills was finally announced today. It could be as late as January before it takes effect. [WSMV]
  • The feds made a big gang bust in Nashville today and indicted 26 members of the Bloods, whom they suspect have been behind several murder conspiracies and violent crimes around here in the past few months. The real kicker is that gang prevention non-profit Galaxy Star is being accused of working behind the scenes to support them. [WKRN]
  • A clouded leopard cub was born at the Nashville Zoo last month and it is really, really cute. And rare. [WTVF]
  • Nothing says “Tennessee” like moonshine and NASCAR. Finally, there is a tourist attraction that encompasses both. [WZTV]
  • We suspect that at least a few of you are reading this from the iPhone line at the Green Hills Apple Store. Apparently it was quite the zoo over there today. [WTVF]
  • Tennessee now has an infant mortality rate that’s comparable to that of a third world country. [WKRN]

    Nashville is set to host a Snuggie Pub Crawl. Music City will make history this
    Saturday night by being the third city in the nation to host this cultural
    phenomenon that is sweeping across the country. The Snuggie Pub Crawl begins
    at 6 PM Saturday night at 3rd & Lindsley. After 9 PM the Snuggie Pub
    Crawlers will start crawling to other nearby locations, with the Crawl Route
    ending at Broadway Brewhouse at 317 Broadway in Nashville.
    Snuggie Pub Crawlers must B.Y.O.S. (Bring Your Own Snuggies) and get ready
    to party while staying warm and cozy.

    • Gosh, forget hockey and live music, I wanna get in a snuggie and go to different bars. (Seriously, this sounds pretty awesome)

    • We heard about this! We’re actually holding out on this one and organizing a bigger crawl in April. The folks who headed this one up, though first, are using their site to spam and rake in ad revenues from Snuggie, which we don’t support. Feel free to take your Snuggie there, but keep an ear out for the date on ours to be announced soon!
