Taco Mamacita Will Spice Up Edgehill Village [Nashville Newcomers]

Taco Mamacita, a young Chattanooga-based restaurant, will be moving into Edgehill Village this December to the space vacated by Rosario’s earlier this year. Taco Mamacita’s sole Chattanooga location is barely past its first birthday, but the venture is entering Nashville with bold claims and big dreams. Scheduled to open early-to-mid December, Taco Mamacita focuses on “funky fusion” tacos and emphasizes their fresh ingredients and their local vibe (full menu can be found here). They’ll also be knocking down some walls over at the old Rosario’s space, and incorporating a fully-stocked indoor/outdoor bar into the already-spacious patio.

Our friends over at Chattarati certainly gave Taco Mamacita high marks during the Summer of Taco, and we trust them on all things ‘Noog. Welcome to Nashville, Taco Mamacita!

    this seems to be about the same type of menu they offered and at the same prices that everyone complained were too high. hopefully they've got some of the rookie mistakes ironed out that rosario's went through though. i wish them luck.

    enamy, are you saying Rosario's was denied this license because the owners were gay? Do you have any proof to this or is it just mindless speculation?

    I ate there, and they had beer at one time I do believe.

    @enamy Rosario's prices were double and triple the menu listed above for anything but cheese dip.

    Also, it was my understanding that the space lays within 99ft of a church (you have to be 100ft or more). TN has finally started to loosen it's drinking laws in the last year (we'll have a distillery in the city very soon!) so it wouldn't surprise me if the new owners presented their case correctly they'll land that license. (TN still needs a radical overhaul of it's drinking laws however!!)

    @Mexi Eater – Rosario's did not have a beer license, they were only able to get a liquor license (Talk about screwy laws..) They did have beer, it just happened to all be over 6% alcohol by volume which is ok under a liquor license.

    no, they never had a beer license. they served high gravity beers that were above 6% to compensate.

    of course i don't have proof as i don't work for the beer board, but if the new owners get a license when the previous owners were denied on several occasions, i'd say that's suspicious. wouldn't you?
