The Weekendist: Mule Day Edition

Happy Mule Day! And tomorrow, happy Mule Day! Did you know that in Columbia, TN, just a stone’s throw away, it’s been Mule Day since March 30 – and will continue to be Mule Day until Sunday. The weekend is heavy with Mule-y events like mule pulling, knife auctions, mule parades, square dancing (hopefully not by the mules), clogging (ditto), and boy, could we go on and on. So uh, take a little field trip this weekend. And let us know how it is.

  • Tin Pan South. 6:30pm & 9:30pm shows every night through the weekend.

I'll save you a trip about coming to Mule Day…….*DON'T BOTHER*. Don't bother to come to Columbia for Mule Day unless you own a Mule. I lived in Columbia when I was married and they take Mule Day very seriously. We didn't go to any of the festivities but all day saturday would have live broadcasts of the activites on their local access channel such as a “Mule Day” version of softball where the players ride instead of run through the bases.

And if you think that's strange……..try Old Timer's Day in Dickson on the first saturday in May. Now that's strange!
