The Second Harvest Food Bank has its hands in a lot of local events, from the Renaissance Festival to the ever-popular Taste Of Music City. They’re a valuable part of our community, and we appreciate the excuse to go to every one of these events with a clean conscience! This week, the often-overlooked Generous Helpings is back at the Nashville Convention Center Ballroom on Wednesday, May 28. Generous Helpings sounds a little bit like a scaled-back version of Taste Of Music City, plus a silent auction, but we’re not complaining. And instead of only 15% of your ticket price going to Second Harvest, Generous Helpings is solely a fund raiser for the food bank. When you purchase a ticket ($40 in advance; $50 at the door) your money is going to Second Harvest’s Nashville Table program as well as the Culinary Arts Scholarship Fund at Nashville State. Sounds like a cause we can get excited about.
