Good morning, Nashville. The deadline is quickly approaching for the TVA to claim immunity against the seven lawsuits, including four class-action suits, they’re facing for the Kingston spill. They’ve been threatening this for months, but a federal judge has finally laid down the mandate that they’ll need to file by April 17. Residents are none too happy about the whole immunity thing and have taken to blowing up the agency phonelines with complaints (which the TVA is required to save as evidence), nearly crashing the whole phone system. And also, everyone hates their new powerlines.
- More severe weather. Batten down the hatches again, y’all, because we’re in for some more tornado-y goodness this afternoon. You might have heard some rumbling this morning before dawn with round 1 of the severe weather, but round 2 is on the way for this afternoon.
- Ticket taxes. Titans fans may have to shell out an extra $3 in taxes when they purchase tickets this season. The upside is that the money will go towards making LP Field a little less ghetto.
- Bits & pieces. This is what Miley was doing while we were trapped in Green Hills by her entourage yesterday … A former Metro firefighter is about to lose his home after retiring due to injuries he sustained on the job … Nashville Pride has released the lineup for this year’s festival, which will be moving to Riverfront Park this time … Another huge win for the Preds last night, but they still need more to secure a playoff slot.
