- The Davidson County Election Commission unanimously certified a petition by Community Oversight Now to put a referendum on that ballot this November to create a police oversight board. The union representing the police has promised a court challenge on the grounds that there were not enough signatures collected.
- Nashville’s criminal clerk says that social security numbers and other personally identifiable information inadvertently appeared on arrest records and is offering credit protection to those affected.
- The city is looking into whether to privatize their 2,000 parking meters around Nashville to create a potential revenue stream of about $30 million. The change would not apply to city-owned garages.

- Two council members have proposed a bill that would require a public vote on new Major League Soccer stadium at Fairgrounds Nashville. The move has been resisted by MLS supporters, preferring to have the council approve the measure.
- The “Hobbycar” — an amphibious vehicle at the Lane Auto Museum — sank to the bottom of Percy Priest Lake Saturday and had to be recovered by divers over four hours Tuesday.
- Vanderbilt University and soldiers from Fort Campbell are collaborating on how to use a 3D printer in the battlefield to create tools and parts as they are needed, rather than having them all on hand at once.
- Big changes are coming to the Nashville International Airport’s restaurants and stores with a new management agreement that is said to allow more local investment in the airport, akin to a mall. Prior agreements were licensing deals for notable Nashville brands rather than owned and managed.
- The airport will also have a new low-fare carrier, Sun Country Air, offering six flights out of Nashville starting in November.
