- It’s Duck season for the Predators! Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals begins in Anaheim tomorrow at 8 p.m. Game 2 is also there on Sunday before returning to Smashville on Tuesday.
- Honestly, we do not even know where to begin with this story. Pro-tip: Avoid talking about living in the “ghetto” while doing … we’re being told that is yoga.
- Good news for those that take Interstate 440 to work! The state now plans to fix some of those car-sized potholes in the road after the governor’s gas tax plan passed late last month. Six other road projects are also on the list.
- Speaking of the state, Tennessee will have a $37 billion budget for the next fiscal year. This comes after a year where it saw a $2 billion surplus. We’re sure they won’t spend it on anything silly.
- Apparently four-story restaurants are all the rage these days, with Florida Georgia Line opening a venue on Third Avenue downtown.
- Ryman Auditorium celebrated its 125th birthday yesterday, so mayor Megan Barry proclaimed May 10 “Ryman Auditorium Day”.
- Our friend Jeremy K. Gover captured a pretty crazy video and pictures of a bee colony that maybe / possibly escaped from the Renaissance Hotel.
- The CMT Awards are moving to the Music City Center after the Predators advanced to the Western Conference Final (!!!). They thought about putting Trace Adkins on skates, but decided to pass.
- There’s a bit of a mystery around who will sing the national anthem for the next playoff round.
- The keyboardist for the band Widespread Panic says the 112 year-old church organ offered up for free (well, plus the $10-30,000 it will cost to move it) says it sounds great.
- The Tennessee legislature will not be getting involved in the short-term rental discussion in Nashville after all. The House had voted for a two-year moratorium on new rules, but the Senate did not move the bill forward. Also, they are done for the year.
