Good morning, Nashville. Vanderbilt, Fisk and Belmont universities are among about 400 schools that may soon ask students to declare their sexual orientation during the application process. A nonprofit called Common Application brought the idea to the table, saying that it will help schools measure diversity of sexual orientation much like diversity of race and gender. Others are concerned that students won’t be comfortable disclosing that kind of information on an application, or aren’t even out to family and friends at the time they apply. The question would, of course, be optional.

- How sweet it is. The Preds finally ended their five-game losing streak with a win over the St. Louis Blues last night. The 3-2 victory came after a shootout and Marcel Goc scored the final goal.
