• There’s apparently a new Nashville reality show in the works called “NashVegas” which promises to be some sort of mixture between Entourage and American Idol. And though this sounds like a bit of a disaster, we’ll probably be tuning in should it ever see the light of day. [WSMV]
• Speaking of television disasters, everyone’s favorite Tennessee gubernatorial candidate Basil Marceaux will be making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight. Regarding the appearance, Basil says, “I’m more concerned about my message. So if they make fun of me and all that stuff, it’ll be worth it.” Seriously, can we stop making fun of this man already and just give him a hug? [Post Politics]
• The fine folks in Salemtown are finally (probably) getting rid of the Metro Action Commission headquarters, which is a social services agency that provides a wide variety of assistance to low-income Nashvillians. The agency is seeking to relocate and while the S-Towners are very clear that they support the commission’s work, they say that the clients it attracts are too much for the neighborhood to handle. • Remember! The deadline for filing for flood assistance with FEMA and the SBA is this Thursday, August 5th. [WKRN]
• Kevin Mawae is a little bummed out that the Titans haven’t asked him back this season. As a free agent, he says that Coach Fisher promised him a spot on the team; however, General Manager Mike Reinfeldt is doubtful that it’s going to happen. [Tennessean]
