- The Metro Health Department will not issue a far-reaching mask mandate for Davidson County as requested by the Metro Council, its director announced Thursday, though that decision may be revisited if cases continue to rise.
- Tennessee clinics that administer monoclonal antibodies used to treat COVID-19 patients say their supply will run out in a few days, which could lead to further hospitalizations with the lack of the effective treatment.

- Heavy rains led the cancellation of the second day of Nashville’s PRIDE festival, an event that had been rescheduled from June to September.
- A viral video shows a woman angrily booting a man from her Lyft on a busy Briley Parkway instead of taking him to the airport. The passenger says the issue started when he asked to roll up his window.
- The Tennessee Titans (1-1) picked up a 33-30 comeback overtime win against the Seattle Seahawks (1-1) with a field goal from their thirteenth (?!) kicker since 2019. The team hosts the Colts (0-2) next week.
- Police fatally shot a man at a motel near Days Inn near Donelson after they say he fired a pistol at them while trying to bring him in for questioning about a recent murder. It was the sixth fatal shooting that MNPD has had in 2022.
- Nashville SC (10-3-11) dropped a 2-1 game against host Toronto FC (4-15-6), only their third loss all season. The team looks to rebound against Inter Miami CF (9-10-5) this Wednesday.
- Cheekwood is running its annual “Cheekwood Harvest” fall event after skipping last year’s because of the pandemic. It features live music and a whole lot of pumpkins.
- A video recorded by a witness shows as many as security guards on top of DJ Barrett before he said “I can’t breathe” following an altercation at Whiskey Row on Broadway when he lost consciousness. Barrett was later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
- A new mural in North Nashville aims to honor the legacy of several black city leaders as well as what they want to see for their community.
