• Nashville’s Solid Waste Board voted against a proposal to expand the landfill in Bordeaux, a move opposed by many in the predominately Black community in North Nashville. Last year’s tornadoes had shortened the lifespan of the facility with an influx of construction waste.
• The Tennessee Attorney General and Lipscomb Academy will host a community shred day tomorrow if you’ve got stuff to get rid of.
• Speed limits on many of Nashville’s residential streets are dropping from 30 MPH to 25 MPH, a move that advocates say will create safer roadways for pedestrians and cyclists.
• The former home of an East Nashville art gallery will now be a burger restaurant its new owners announced this week.
• Seniors at Hillwood High School are trying to raise money for prom after the pandemic canceled last year’s event.
• The Nashville Predators (15-17-1) beat the Detroit Red Wings (1-19-4) 2-0 Monday night in Nashville, with goaltender Juse Saros earning his first shutout of the season. They host the Wings again tonight before heading to play a back-to-back series with the Chicago Blackhawks (15-13-5) on the road.
• The biggest news from the game Monday was a hot mic moment from referee Tim Peel where he appears to admit he wanted to make a call against Nashville. Peel was effectively fired after the game in what would have been his last season before retirement.
• Nashville SC has announced the schedule for its upcoming season while the team continues to work with health officials on attendance rules.
