- It’s a real shame that the “Boner Awards” were last week, as a commissioner on the Metro-Nashville Authority Airport Board reported his personal airplane missing Monday (and “spotted” flying below 400 ft. to avoid radar detection) only to discover it had been parked in the wrong hangar. ?♂️
- Housing advocates demonstrated in front of City Hall Tuesday night to demand that the Barnes Fund, which had $5 million impounded that was supposed to go towards affordable housing grants, be restored in full.
- Inside, the Metro Council took several steps to gain some oversight over the city’s departments, normally a job delegated to the mayor’s office.
- Dozens of protesters were in front of the federal courthouse downtown on the even of the eventual impeachment of President Trump for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The vote, as expected, was along party lines for the state’s US Representatives.
- A vendor for Metro General, the safety net hospital for folks without insurance, has been suing more of its patients for non-payment than any other hospital in town. The company has said it will be dropping pending litigation after the story came to light.
- Tennessee Governor Bill Lee says he will consent for the state to continue accepting refugees for resettlement after the Trump administration said that states must submit an answer by Christmas. TIRRC applauded the governor’s decision, while some state lawmakers expressed their displeasure.
- Metro Nashville Police have confirmed that they investigating reports of men being drugged and robbed downtown by a group of women in what they are labeling as organized crime.
- The Nashville Chamber of Commerce has outlined new goals for the city’s school system, with one asking that the system restore its office of diversity that studied ways to ensure more racially diverse classrooms. Fewer than half of the city’s schools currently meet that criteria.
- Police arrested a man they say used Christmas wrapping paper to hide 84 lbs. of marijuana as he moved it through security at BNA. When asked what he did for a living, he said “this.”
- This year has become the deadliest on record for traffic accidents in Davidson County.
- The Nashville Predators (16-12-5) picked up two badly needed wins starting with a 5-2 win over the New Rangers (16-13-4) Monday followed by a 8-3 win over the New York Islanders (22-8-2) Tuesday. The team starts the second half of their road trip tonight in Ottawa against the Senators (14-18-3) and in Boston against the Bruins (21-7-7) on Saturday.

- The furor over dockless scooters in Nashville appears to have died down, with city leaders taking a more measured approach after more than a year of proposed bans and regulations.
