- A 26-year-old man has died from injuries sustained Thursday when police say he turned his Bird scooter into the path of a ride-share SUV. The crash is still under investigation.
- Hundreds of Metro Nashville Public Schools teachers and other supporters marched from Nissan Stadium to City Hall Thursday as part of a protest of what they say is an inadequately funded school system. More than 1,000 teachers called in sick for the day.
- A deal negotiated between the city and LAZ Parking would introduce us to “the barnacle”, an industrial strength windshield attachment that would prevent a driver from leaving in a car that hasn’t paid a parking fine. The device cannot be removed until the offender calls in to pay the fine and receives a code to disengage it.
- Former Metro Council member Adam Dread says that he is running for an at-large seat on a single campaign promise to ban electric scooters entirely. He last served in 2007.

- Former Vice President Joe Biden will attend a fundraiser at an “undisclosed location” in Nashville today and the event hosted by developer Bill Freeman and his wife is invitation only. We’re taking bets on where he’ll be.
- The details of the proposed cuts to WeGo Public Transit have been released to the public, and it affects just about every neighborhood in the city with reduced or consolidated service. Fares may increase to $1.85 from $1.70, and the two free Music City Circuit routes will be eliminated.
- The Metro Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) will receive $35 million per year for the next 10 years to build or replace affordable housing units, prompting at least one Metro Council member to wonder if the agency over promised. Dubbed the “Envision,” the housing projects will be built with affordable, workforce and market-rate housing units intermixed.
- Fort Negley Park, once the future site of a large development, will be designated as a “Site of Memory” by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as part of its Slave Route Project. An archeological survey indicated that there are likely slave grave sites on the property.
- The Nashville Scene sent a writer south to Murfreesboro for a look (but not to stare) at the Rock Haven Lodge, which bills itself as a Family Nudist Park. ?
- Flatrock Coffee, Tea & More off Nolensville Pike will close close this week after its landlord doubled its monthly rent, owners say. The shop opened in 2014.
