- PSA: The rain forecast for the next several days includes as much as 7 inches for Davidson County, where we have already broken monthly records. City officials are urging caution and vigilance in the community if flooding occurs. ☔️
- At a forum Friday night, a Seattle council member warned of the ‘Amazon effect’ on housing and infrastructure and urged the community to get ahead of those issues now before the company opens its “Operational Center of Excellence” downtown with its purported 5,000 jobs. Seattle experienced rapid changes starting in 2012 when Amazon consolidated its headquarters there.
- Nashville’s emergency services will soon encrypt scanner broadcasts to prevent eavesdropping, citing safety concerns. Neighborhood watch groups are concerned it will limit their ability to keep their neighbors informed.
- Three separate lawsuits have been filed against the Milk & Honey restaurant in the Gulch after a confirmed salmonella outbreak in August of last year, stemming from an egg supplier. The restaurant says they are no longer using that supplier.
- The murder trial of suspended police officer Andrew Delke is currently mired in motions about records related to the case, with both prosecutors and defense attorneys in a war of words. Delke is accused in the 2018 death of Daniel Hambrick who was fleeing on foot when shot.
- Metro Nashville has donated 15 vacant properties owned by the city to a non-profit that will build affordable housing on the lots. The group has five years to complete the housing, and it will be available only to those making 80 percent or less of the city’s median income.
- The Nashville Predators (34-22-5) picked up a win against the Montreal Canadiens (31-21-7) 3-1 Thursday at home before dropping a 5-1 game Saturday on the road to the Vegas Golden Knights (32-24-4). The Preds are back in action against the Dallas Stars (29-24-5) on the road tonight.

- Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel took the “Polar Plunge” and jumped into a 40-degree swimming pool on a 30-degree day to benefit the Special Olympics of Tennessee.
- A third candidate has entered the race for August’s mayoral election, this time an Oregon native who moved to the area in 2014. Harold “Hollywood Howie” Garoutte is a retired US Army sergeant, former actor and recording studio owner.

- Housing prices in the Nashville area are growing at a much slower pace than last year, indicating a cooling market according to real estate professionals. Monthly rents are also sliding downward as more apartment buildings open. ?
- The Metro Nashville Police Department’s Juvenile Crime Task Force announced that has recovered 211 guns and 294 stolen vehicles in the past year. The task force has charged 277 juveniles and 327 young adults in that time span.
- A Davidson County Juvenile Judge is again asking for a new detention center and assessment facility after a funding agreement fell through during the last budget cycle. It is a partnership with other local groups to provide support for those moving through the court system
