- PSA: If you live in District 29, early voting is now open for one of the four candidates vying to be your Metro Council Member. Election day is February 12.
- It took all night to sort it all out, but the Metro Council voted in their nine of the 11 members of the new community oversight board. The board will look into cases of police misconduct.
- Mayoral candidate John Ray Clemmons raised some eyebrows Tuesday when he told the Nashville Scene in a wide-ranging interview that a property tax increase, while not politically popular, is needed. The Metro Council narrowly defeated a property tax increase last year in the substitute budget.
- A Metro Nashville Police commander spent his day off protesting gun violence holding a sign near DB Todd Boulevard Monday.
- If you were hoping the state would pay for damage to your car caused by potholes, well, you are probably out of luck. Less than one percent of claims were accepted last year.
- Metro Nashville Public Schools could soon add Kurdish to its list of world languages if a proposal is approved by the state education administrators. Individual schools would be able to decide whether to offer the class based on interest.

- The Nashville Predators (30-18-4) picked up wins against the Colorado Avalanche (22-20-8) 4-1 Monday night and the Vegas Golden Knights (29-19-4) 2-1 last night, both games on the road. They wrap up their road trip Friday against the Florida Panthers (20-20-8) and return home against the Dallas Stars (24-21-4) Saturday.
