- WPLN has an interview with the mothers of the two men who have been killed by Nashville police officers. Video and witness accounts show that both men were fleeing the pursuing officer when shot.
- More than 100 people marched Saturday night through downtown Nashville to protest the death of the more recent incident involving Daniel Hambrick. The demonstrations briefly closed an interstate on-ramp and there was an altercation with a woman who said she worked for the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
- Police are seeking information about a woman caught on video who has repeatedly smeared human feces on a North Nashville home in what the owners say is a targeted attack. ?
- An apartment building in SoBro and short-term rental company Airbnb have partnered to allow residents to sublet their apartments for as many as 180 days a year. The arrangement will allow guests to use the building’s amenities.
- Christ Presbyterian Academy basketball coach Drew Maddux is again in the headlines after hitting a 362-foot trick shot while blindfolded from atop the Omni Hotel in downtown Nashville. It did take 355 attempts, but that’s still pretty impressive.
- Dolly Parton was given the inaugural leadership award bearing her name by Leadership Tennessee for her “her selfless work to improve lives across Tennessee” at a ceremony Saturday night at the Country Music Hall of Fame. We’re big fans of Dolly.
- WSMV’s investigative reporters have turned up proposed car auction and museum for the Fairgrounds Nashville property which is already slated to be home to a new MLS franchise. The revelation comes at a sensitive time in negotiations about the future of the fairgrounds.
- For folks wanting to show their East Nashville pride, Friends of Shelby Bottoms have unveiled a new license plate design and have begun taking pre-orders. They must secure 1,000 reservations by next December to make the plate a reality.
- The Tennessee Titans lost 31-17 to the Green Bay Packers in their first preseason game Thursday night in Wisconsin. The Titans will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 7 p.m. Saturday at Nissan Stadium.

- Vandals have struck a midtown mural for the fourth time, police say. The Nashville Walls Project is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
- The Tennessean announced Thursday that they will leave their 1100 Broadway home to a location down West End Avenue and that the newspaper itself will be printed in Knoxville and be delivered via truck every morning for distribution. It is the first move for the newspaper in 88 years.
