- Metro Nashville Public Schools administrators were again questioned by city leaders about their budget shortfall and expenditures. The district is projected to be $7.5 million short this year.
- Private security companies are suing Metro in federal court over MNPD holding a “monopoly” on security for city events. They are seeking an injunction to stop the practice and unspecified damages.
- Nashville will vote May on the transit plan, but one health benefit that experts are highlighting among transit users is that they actually end up walking more than car drivers.
- Somebody is supposedly inching closer to buying the Nashville Scene, and they will probably bid a bit more than we would have. We had big plans.

- The Nashville Predators return home looking to close out the Colorado Avalanche, leading 3 games to 1 in the series. A slow start cost them dearly Monday in a 5-3 loss that saw goaltender Pekka Rinne chased from his net in the second period. They held off a late charge by the Avs Wednesday night, winning 3-2 with both of Colorado’s goals scored in the third period.
- The series returns home to Nashville at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Bridgestone Arena, slightly later than usual to accommodate the broadcast schedule. The game will be on Fox Sports Tennessee and NBCSN.
- A Nashville Fire Department employee is under investigation for allegedly hiding his nephew from authorities in his role in an early morning car crash in February.
- Marcus Mariota will be with the Titans next season as expected, with the team picking up the fifth year of his rookie contract. He will make $20.9 million in 2019.
- A woman from Lewisburg, Tennessee has been awarded $50,000 from the Metro Council after she fell into a pothole in a downtown intersection and injured her arm.
- A Tennessean columnist wants you to know that unnamed people have their “feathers ruffled” because the former mayor is taking a bunch of photos on Instagram.
- Demetria Kalodimos, the longtime anchor on WSMV, says she could soon be back on the airwaves but didn’t offer any further specifics. She and the station unceremoniously parted ways at the end of last year.
