- Nashville SC played its first game Saturday against Atlanta United, a very wet 3-1 loss at First Tennessee Park. The exhibition game was between different leagues, with Nashville representing the United Soccer League and Atlanta from Major League Soccer.
- The Nashville Scene has a quick overview for the three separate entities slated to investigate possible misconduct in the wake of Mayor Megan Barry’s admitted extramarital affair. The mayor’s office has repeatedly said it is cooperating with all investigations.
- A 17 year-old male student was shot near Pearl-Cohn High School after dismissal Friday afternoon. The student is in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and police have not yet identified any suspects.
- Records show the mayor was scheduled to travel to the Grammy Awards late last month with Sgt. Rob Forrest, but the trip was canceled days before the affair was revealed. The trip had been booked in December as an economic development opportunity.
- Saturday marked the one year anniversary of the death of Jocques Clemmons who was killed by a Metro Nashville Police officer after a routine traffic stop. Family members and activists have been asking for the officer in the incident to be fired and an community oversight board appointed.
- An employee at the Clarksville Pike Subway hid a gun among packets of mayonnaise after being accused of waving the weapon at a customer following a dispute about the way he was making the sandwich. Okay then.
- The very wet weekend has caused local flooding all across the mid-state area and closed several roads in Nashville. We can expect more rain on Wednesday.
- Transit Now, the group supporting the “Let’s Move Nashville” plan kicked off its campaign for passage of the May 1 referendum that would fund a $5.4 billion expansion of the city’s transit system. The group is supported by a number of large employers, civic groups and activists.
- Did you know there was an Grand Ole Opry themed restaurant near Times Square in New York City? It’s a lot nicer looking than the other one.
- The Tennessee Department of Transportation is warning drivers of potential potholes caused by the rain of the past few days.
- The Nashville Predators (33-12-9) wrapped up its four game road trip with 3-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators (19-26-9) Thursday and a 3-2 shootout win over the Montreal Canadiens (22-26-7) Saturday night. The team returns home Tuesday to face the St. Louis Blues (34-21-3) Tuesday.
- Franklin-based travel publishing group Lonely Planet named Chattanooga a Top 10 U.S. city to visit, omitting Nashville from its list. Maybe we’re falling down on our #ItCity-ness?
- A North Nashville convenience store employee was arrested Friday after allegedly firing a gun at an attempted shoplifter for taking a case of beer. The man was hit in the leg and was also charged with misdemeanor theft.

- It filled up quickly, but you can sign up for a wait-list to participate in a large-scale mock emergency at the airport next month. The training will help first responders prepare for an actual emergency.
- Bonnaroo announced its daily lineup on Friday if you’re planning to make a trip to Manchester this June 7-10. The main headliners this year will be Muse, Eminem and The Killers.
