- A Metro Nashville Public Schools administrator has resigned following claims of sexual harassment and an emotional encounter with a news reporter. He had been on administrative leave while the investigation proceeded.
- The Nashville Scene has a look at how the “Let’s Move Nashville” transit plan is soon to go before the voters while other projects, such as the Greer redevelopment and fairgrounds soccer stadium, are facing headwinds.
- If you get a letter claiming that you missed jury duty and that the fine must paid with prepaid card, it’s a recurring scam. Be careful out there.
- Nashville Mayor Megan Barry is one of 51 other mayors who signed on to a letter to the FCC urging them to continue protecting “Net Neutrality” regulations that are expected to be rescinded later this month.
- Davidson County reported a steep decline in so-called “sleep-related deaths” among infants in 2016. Fifteen infants were determined to have died in their crib last year, down from 21 in the year prior.
- Cold temperatures over the weekend prompted city officials to open emergency shelters for the homeless. The lows this coming week will get into the 20s.
- Titans TE Delanie Walker has invited an East Tennessee boy and his family to attend an upcoming game after seeing a viral video where the boy describes his experience with bullying.
- A new, albeit temporary, crosswalk has been installed in a section of Nolensville Pike that is particularly treacherous to pedestrians. A record twenty people have been killed and more than 280 injured in Davidson County in vehicle/pedestrian incidents this year alone.
- The Tennessee Titans (8-5) were unable score in the second half of their game against the Arizona Cardinals, dropping the contest 7-12 and a game behind the Jacksonville Jaguars (9-4) in the division race. They travel next Sunday to SanA Fransisco to take on the 49ers (3-10).
- The Nashville Predators (18-7-4) dropped their Friday night game against the Vegas Golden Knights (19-9-1) 4-3 in the shootout, their first visit to Nashville and one that featured brothers PK and Malcom Subban facing off. The Predators begin their western Canada road trip Wednesday against the Canucks (14-12-4) in Vancouver.
- There was a bit of controversy over a third period tweet from the Golden Knight’s official team Twitter account for claiming that Nashville media members were cheering in the press box. Turns out, they totally made that up.
- The late Penny Campbell was honored with a historic marker in East Nashville Saturday, the first of its kind to honor a LGBTQ activist in the state. Campbell helped organize the state’s first Pride event in Nashville and was the plaintiff in civil rights case in the mid 1990s that deemed Tennessee’s ban on homosexuality unconstitutional.
