- Somebody tried to carry a loaded pistol on to a plane at Nashville International Airport on Wednesday. It was the 48th time so far this year somebody forgot to put their weapon in checked baggage.
- Nashville neighborhoods celebrated the annual Night Out Against Crime in a year that has seen an uptick in violent crime.
- Police say a Nashville woman stabbed her ex-boyfriend because he refused to cook for her. No word on what was to be on the menu.
- The cousin of former council member Loniel Green was sentenced to 10 years in prison for domestic violence. The short-tenured Greene is still facing coercion charges for trying to intimidate the victim.
- And finally, Nashville Predator captain Mike Fisher announced this morning that he’s hanging up the skates after 17 seasons. No announcement yet on who will be the next captain.
