- Forest Hills Baptist Church, Christ Presbyterian Academy, Grassland Elementary School, and Grassland Middle School were all under lockdown for a few hours this afternoon while police searched for burglary suspects in the Forest Hills area. None of the places were ever in danger, but they fell within a search perimeter set up by Metro. [WKRN]
- The first Titans DUI of the (pre-)season comes to us courtesy of wide receiver Chris Davis, who was picked up in the wee hours of the morning while careening down Broadway with a blood alcohol level of 0.11. [WKRN]
- The TVA is now predicting a three-year timeline for cleaning up the ash spill in Kingston followed by “potentially years of long-term environmental monitoring.” [WSMV]
- Plan on steering clear of eastbound I-440 this weekend. Starting at 8pm this evening, all lanes will be shutting down between I-40 and I-65 west of downtown while they fix some giant pot holes. [WKRN]
- When they were pulling over drunk Titans on Broadway, Metro spent the early morning hours chasing around a developmentally disabled 9-year old who was driving her grandmother’s car, at one point hitting 80 mph. Amazingly, no one was hurt although she did bump into a police cruiser at the end of the chase. [WTVF]
