Good morning, Nashville. We hope you’re enjoying a day at home with the kiddos, but if you’re like us, you probably had to go into work anyway. Looks pretty out the window though, right? While forecasters originally predicted 1-2 inches of snow, it seems this storm is only going to last long enough to disrupt your commute. Be sure to keep an eye out for the slush freezing over later on in the afternoon. Happy traveling!
- More budget woes. Guess what? Instead of being $5 million short like everyone predicted, Metro Schools are actually looking at a $14 million deficit. In related news, a new report is indicating that they might not be in much better shape this year for meeting No Child Left Behind standards.
- The price is right. Everyone knows the best part of the Super Bowl are the commercials, so be on the lookout for a few Nashville-based companies who shelled out something “in the high 2 millions” for a couple of 30-second spots. Bridgestone (layoffs, anyone?) and the makers of Pedigree pet food will both be airing ads during the game. We just hope they’re good.
- Bits & pieces. As much as we all love to hate John Rich, we just love to love his ex-partner-in-crime Big Kenny … More marijuana busts in Old Hickory! And this one was a doozy … Downtown condo sales are expected to maybe pick up this year, giving us a glimmer of hope for our new skyscraper … The taser lawsuit against the Metro Police seems to be losing some ground.
