- More locations are dropping their indoor mask requirements following a federal court’s decision to block their enforcement, but there are still a few places where the ruling doesn’t apply.

- Metro Council voted Tuesday night to buy the former site of Hickory Hollow Mall, hoping to in turn lease the property back to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for a new clinic. Critics of the deal said the decisions was rushed and without enough commitments from VUMC related to costs.
- The council also approved a measure that authorized the city to apply for federal grants to build a new bridge over the Cumberland River near the stadium as an outlet for game day traffic.
- A report shows that 60 percent of Tennessee’s corporations are not paying taxes, with more than a quarter of those having revenue over a billion dollars.

- The Tennessee Supreme Court overturned a lower court’s ruling that required the legislature to redraw the Senate districts within 15 days because they did not conform to a requirement that adjacent districts must be sequentially numbered.
- A WeGo bus driver has been cited in connection with the death of a 60 year-old man who police say had crossed four lanes of traffic outside of a crosswalk along Old Hickory Boulevard West. Their investigation alleges the driver had time to stop prior to hitting the victim.
- A slow-moving train struck a semi truck carrying gasoline, prompting evacuations and road closures in the Nations neighborhood.
- The General Assembly is considering a bill that would raise some of the funds for the stadium through a one percent increase in the hotel tax. Some lawmakers are pushing back against the cost and possible implications for the state’s bond rating.
- Stand Up Nashville has released the results of an informal survey taken during a recent event about the future of the East Bank area (which includes the stadium) and found that nearly 90 percent of attendees said they did not support using public funds for the stadium. The organization has advocated for more affordable housing and jobs.
