- Comedian Kat Williams ended his set about 10 minutes early Saturday because a reported bomb threat at Municipal Auditorium. Police say the investigation is ongoing, but no explosive was found.
- A “micro-grant” fund has distributed $28,000 to local groups in the 37208 area code in an effort to boost the neighborhood that recently had the highest incarceration rate in America.
- Rising gas prices are taking a toll on local non-profits, including a mobile food pantry.
- The Tennessee Titans say stadium renovations are still “on the table,” but that cost estimates have led them and the city to explore building an entirely new facility in the current parking lot. The team says they are not looking to create an “entertainment district.”
- Nashville SC dropped an 0-2 game against FC Dallas on the road, their first loss of the season. The team heads on the road to face Real Salt Lake next Saturday.
- The team will play at Geodis Park this season the team announced as part of a media tour of the new stadium. Geodis is a French-owned logistics and supply-chain provider.
- It is looking unlikely that the owner of Three Brothers Coffee will voluntarily accept union representation for his employees. The group was looking to have the first union coffee shop in Nashville.
- The Nashville Predators lost to the St. Louis Blues 7-4 at home Saturday before picking up a 6-2 win on the road against the Minnesota Wild last night. The Preds are at home Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins, on the Road Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers and home again Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
- Music venue and bar 3rd and Lindsley is looking for a new home within the next few years after the building owner filed a proposal for redeveloping the property. Several independent music venues have struggled with similar predicaments in recent years.
- The Earnest Tubb Record Shop will close according to a statement on the store’s Facebook page, ending a 75 year run downtown at two different locations, most recently on Lower Broadway.
