- Last night’s thunderstorm featured a “positive lighting strike” (as opposed to a negative one) that hit the Gulch, knocking out power. It sounds terrifying.
- An East Nashville couple were almost struck by a stray bullet Tuesday night while sitting outside on their porch watching the fireworks. Police believe somebody fired a gun into the air to celebrate the holiday.
- Speaking of stray projectiles, a handful of seats in the upper deck of Nissan Stadium were damaged when a mortar shell from the fireworks misfired. Oops!
- We know this has already been mentioned here before, but seriously, Goat Yoga? Guessing Pig Pilates was already taken.
- A program could allow neighborhood associations to receive money from the city for resolving litter and other codes violations. The program would shift the focus to incentives instead of fines.
- That pepper on your upscale ramen may have been grown by refugees living in East Nashville. Unrelated, anyone tried to create “Nashville Hot” ramen yet?
- Shoutout to whatever idiot was dropping beer bottles off of the Woodland Street bridge on to the General Jackson on Tuesday.
- A metro council member will be proposing an 11 p.m. curfew for teenagers to reduce teen violence. Studies results are mixed on whether it would help.
- Neighbors along the proposed light rail line down Gallatin Pike appear to be on board with the plan. A referendum vote is expected next year.
- Brittany Howard of the band Alabama Shakes will be debuting with a new trio called “Bermuda Triangle” next week at Basement East. No tickets are left, though.
- Nashville Predators goaltender Pelka Rinne wrote a column for the Player’s Tribune that is definitely worth a read. We ❤️ you too, Pekka.
