Good morning, Nashville. The votes are in and now here’s the news you have all been waiting for: Basil Marceaux managed to run away with 3,505 votes, which is less than 1% of the total. The members of illustrious staff were kind enough to let him record a “consolation speech” and are already pimping him out for the 2014 governor race because they are just that dedicated to getting his message out and certainly not because they enjoy internet fame. In other important election news, Bill Haslam snagged the GOP nomination, Mike McWherter started making some campaign promises, and the Yarbro-Henry race was so close that they’re doing a recount.
- Killer cactus wreaks havoc on airplane!! A flight out of JFK made an emergency landing at BNA yesterday after passengers and crew smelled something burning and started to get sick. Ten passengers were treated upon arrival and one crew member was sent to the hospital. Delta Airlines blames a cactus that was in someone’s carry-on luggage.
